FOTHR and King County Host Educator Sneak Preview

Forty five local educators from 6 major school districts attended the Sneak Preview of the Center today. The educators went on tours that included a walk through of the Center and short hike into the North Forty Native Protection area of the park.

It was a fine sunny day for a tour!  Educators got a complete look both laboratories, the exhibit hall, and the community center.  Attendees also were able to  view the recently installed 3.5 kW Silicon Energy solar panel array.  These panels were provided by a $46,000 grant from Snohomish PUD and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation.  The panels and the inverter were made in Washington so they qualify for a .54 cent / kWhr credit.  Funds earned from this credit will be put in a special fund for educational programs on site.
